Intercollege Culinary Arts Lecturers Complete Enriching Educational programme to Backaldrin, Austria through the Erasmus+ Programme
Intercollege is delighted to announce the successful completion of a highly informative and engaging educational programme by our Culinary Arts lecturers to the Backaldrin headquarters in Austria. The mobility has been supported by Angeo Cyprus and took place from May 26 to May 30, 2024. It provided our lecturers with invaluable insights into advanced baking techniques and the rich culinary traditions of Austria.
The first day began with a transfer to Asten for a visit to the Backaldrin headquarters. Activities included a tour of PANEUM — Wunderkammer des Brotes, R&D bakeries, Export bakeries, and the QM laboratory. After a lunch featuring traditional Austrian confectionery, the lecturers engaged in hands-on baking sessions, including slow dough fermentation and baking without proofing techniques. The next day featured a visit to the renowned Bakery “Der Mann” in Vienna for an extensive tour and learning session.
This training was a part of Intercollege’s continuous efforts to provide our Culinary Arts lectures with the highest quality education and training. The firsthand experience and knowledge gained by our lecturers during this trip will undoubtedly enrich our curriculum and benefit our students.
